Chipping Norton Christmas Lights Switch-On
Chipping Norton’s annual Christmas Lights Switch-On brought festive spirit to the town on Thursday evening, with members of the Chipping Norton Freemasons playing a cheerful part in the celebrations.
The Worshipful Master Stu Harrison attended the event dressed as Santa Claus, joined by his wife who took on the role of Mrs Claus for the evening. The pair were warmly received by families as they made their way through the crowds, handing out sweets and “I’m on the Good List” stickers to excited children.
The event also provided an opportunity for the Freemasons to meet with representatives from Thrive OX7, a local charity offering vital support to families facing financial hardship. Thrive OX7 provides school uniforms, beds, bedding and other essential items to children in need across the area.
Members of Chipping Norton Lodge have confirmed that the lodge will be donating to Thrive OX7 this year as part of its continued commitment to supporting local causes. Representatives from the charity shared insights into their work and the growing demand for assistance within the community.
The evening was described as a positive start to the festive season, combining Christmas cheer with a strong sense of community engagement.
The Chipping Norton Freemasons will continue their festive activities in December as preparations begin for their annual Santa Sleigh visits around the town.
