Charitable Work

Charity has always been a cornerstone of Freemasonry, and we are proud of our long standing tradition of supporting those in need. Each year, Freemasons contribute both time and resources at local, national, and international levels, helping to make a meaningful difference to individuals, organisations, and communities. Something we have been doing here in Oxfordshire since 1729.

Through the work of the Freemasons’ charity, our organisation is recognised as one of the country’s major charitable contributors, providing millions of pounds in support to worthy causes every year. In addition to financial support, Freemasons collectively volunteer countless hours within their local communities.

Here in Oxfordshire, our members take part in a wide range of charitable and community activities, including fundraising, volunteering, and social events where spouses, partners, and families are warmly welcomed. Support has been given across the country to local air ambulances, blood bikes, and emergency response services.

Freemasonry also continues to support important medical research, helping scientists and healthcare organisations in the development of treatments for conditions such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease, contributing to life changing breakthroughs.

The MHA provides high-quality housing and support for Freemasons, their families, and any eligible applicants in later life, and stands as a strong example of meaningful Community Engagement.

The Freemasons Fund For Surgical Research (FFRS)

Teddies for Loving Care Charity (TLC)
