Adults experiencing homelessness in Oxford will receive additional support thanks to a £10,000 grant from Oxfordshire Freemasons to local charity the Gatehouse.
The funding will help the Gatehouse continue providing essential services at its Woodstock Road community centre for people who are rough sleeping, vulnerably housed, or at risk of homelessness. Support includes hot meals, showers, clothing, counselling, housing advice, and wellbeing services.
The charity supports individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including mental health issues, financial hardship, domestic abuse, and social isolation. Demand for its services has more than doubled since 2020, with over 1,000 people accessing support last year.
The grant was awarded through the Masonic Charitable Foundation, funded by Freemasons, their families, and friends across England and Wales.
