On Sunday, 19th October, Bro. Ben Pritchard attended Marlow Rowing Club as part of the two-month radio campaign to promote the work of Love Rowing, the efforts of Regattas Lodge and that of the Province across Oxfordshire. Marlow FM was one of the radio stations organising an on-air competition.The prize was to spend the afternoon with Ben Pritchard, the Paralympic gold medallist and World record holder from the World Rowing Championships held from 21 to 28 September 2025.Ben was accompanied by Co-Chair and Trustee from Love Rowing, Clare Glackin, and Marlow FM presenter Kelly Saward, along with her radio winner, Julie. Not only did Ben give Julie a superb afternoon with afternoon tea, but he also gave her the chance to row with him on an adaptive rowing skiff after talking with the assembled participants of assisted rowing.Julie summed up the day as follows:“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for Sunday. It really meant a lot to spend time with you and have such an open chat about our disabilities and experiences. You were so encouraging, and I came away feeling genuinely inspired and more confident about what’s possible. It was a genuine pleasure to meet you and share the day with you. You really did open my eyes to what we can do being disabled. I didn’t really get to have a full chat with you, but I feel we got the gist of what we were trying to communicate. Both my son and I are interested in giving rowing a go. It was such a wonderful opportunity for me and one that I will be forever thankful for.”
