The Regatta for the Disabled are delighted to receive a £1,000 donation towards this year’s Regatta on 12 September thanks to fundraising by the Freemasons of Regattas Lodge in Henley.
Regattas Lodge has raised more than £12,000 through a fundraising dinner at Leander Club, alongside other fundraising initiatives and match funding from Oxfordshire Freemasons.
The funds have been donated to the Love Rowing charity, which supports projects that enable disabled and disadvantaged people to experience the benefits of rowing.
The donation will help provide greater access to the sport, creating opportunities for more people to participate and enjoy the physical, social and wellbeing benefits that rowing can bring.
Chair of Regatta for the Disabled, Lucy Bowley said, “We would like to say a huge thank you to both Regattas Lodge and Love Rowing because earlier this year we had a deficit in our fundraising grants. We are looking forward to welcoming the adaptive rowing crews from Marlow Rowing Club who use our donated rowing boat for a demonstration again this year to encourage our visitors to get into rowing.”
